H5 bird flu has been detected in migratory seabirds in southern Australia. There have been no detections in Queensland, and the current risk to people is low.
Biosecurity Queensland is working closely with partners to monitor the situation and is well prepared to respond quickly to H5 bird flu.
You can help too. If you find multiple sick or dead birds or other animals:
