We’re excited to look back at the evolution of our logo and the journey it represents!

Since the very first design in 2004, our logos have grown and changed alongside Queensland Water and Land Carers. The early years focused on representing all NRM groups, with hands depicting our landcare roots and Queensland proudly at the centre. Over time, the acronym QWaLC became prominent, and our colours grew brighter to reflect the rich diversity of Queensland’s landscapes, water, and life.

In 2014, the distinctive triangle shape was added that clearly represents Queensland.

Our latest logo, launched at the 2023 AGM, is not just a visual refresh—it’s a symbol of our ongoing journey in Reconciliation and Inclusivity. We’re honoured that the additional artwork, “Caring for Earth,” was created by proud Mayi woman Leah Cummins. Her story, inspired by the interconnectedness of Living, Land, and Water, reminds us of over 65,000 years of Indigenous custodianship—of taking what we need and giving back, of respecting totems and the deep ties between people, animals, and country.
As Leah shares: “May we move towards caring for the planet in a respectful way that can bring healing of the planet. I want to share this piece with love and harmony.”

Our logo is often used in conjunction with the Landcare ‘hands’ for Landcare, Coastcare, Junior Landcare and Landcare Agriculture.

We’re proud to reflect these values in our logo and our work—together, caring for Queensland’s land and water as we celebrate 21 years!
